The Offered Gossip

Oscar seems to have fallen into a very easy trap at Chelsea. As with Willian, Jose Mourinho has stripped away some creativity in order to turn his attacking midfielders into all-running, high-intensity workers. This has made Oscar a worse player.

Having been bought for £25m, Oscar now seems to have fallen slightly out of favour at Stamford Bridge. Basically Eden Hazard does all the creating and Diego Costa does all the finishing; the rest have become glorified facilitators.

The Daily Mirror report that Juventus are the favourites to sign Oscar, with Enner Valencia his replacement at Stamford Bridge. If signing a West Ham forward with four Premier League goals this season doesn't make much sense, this will probably persuade you: 'Valencia has also impressed with his versatility, pace and work-rate.' Hard work, you see.

VAN PERSIE OUT, INGS (AND HUMMELS) IN?

Another hokey-cokey transfer story now, and this time it's Manchester United who are going in, out and shaking it all about.

The Daily Mail report that Louis van Gaal wants Danny Ings to form a central part of his Manchester United rebuilding. They claim that 'high-placed sources at Old Trafford have confirmed their interest' in Ings. That makes us imagine the source sat on top of the Stretford End stand.

The Mail actually go quite ballsy on this one, claiming that United have already held talks with Burnley. United would have to pay a fee at tribunal for Ings, thought to be in the region of £5m.

Elsewhere, The Times report that the departure of Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund gives Manchester United renewed hope of signing Mats Hummels for a fee of £25m.

BALOTELLI OUT, FALCAO IN?

And now for the last of our 'in out' trilogy, this time courtesy of the ever-reliable Daily Star.

They believe that Liverpool will finance a deal for Radamel Falcao by offloading Mario Balotelli. We're not quite sure how cheap the Star think Falcao will be, but we can't see that the proceeds from slipping Balotelli out of the back door will go that far.

The Star refer to 'Spanish sources' as evidence of a potential deal, but don't have the good grace to name those sources. The secretive buggers. They also use quotes from Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero saying he would like to sign Balotelli.
