Injured Ergotelis player dropped twice by strecher-bearers

Leonardo Koutris was dropped twice on the way off the pitch in the Greek second division match Greek side Ergotelis might be in the market for new stretcher-bearers after Leonardo Koutris was dropped twice on the way off the pitch. With Koutris's side 1-0 down, the "helpers" seemed keen to get the injured player off the field as quickly as possible, but in their haste they tripped over and sent the poor player crashing to the ground not once, but twice.messiboots2014

Manchester United's victory over Everton analysed by Gary Neville

Wayne Rooney (left) scored as Manchester United beat Everton 3-0 Gary Neville called Manchester United's 3-0 win over Everton a "dramatic contrast" from their defeat at Arsenal. Neville said United's midfield was "outnumbered, out-played and out-fought" as they slumped to a surprise 3-0 defeat at the Emirates two weeks ago. Louis van Gaal's side were top of the table at the start of that weekend, but were stunned by a rampant first-half display from the Gunners. Dynamo KievvChelseacopasmundial

Top ten: English football’s German imports

Jurgen Klopp is one of a relatively rare breed – a German choosing to work in English football. Here are the best… 10) Thomas Hitzlsperger (Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham) Despite playing six years of his career in England, it never really felt like Hitzlsperger was appreciated here. He certainly never showed the sort of form for Aston Villa, West Ham and Everton that would persuade you he deserved 52 caps for Germany. That’s more than Matthias Sammer. Hitzlsperger actually won the vast majority of those caps when back in the Bundesliga at Stuttgart, but spent enough time in England to gain a nickname for the power of his shot and perfect a spectacular Brummie accent. It’s also important to point out that the midfielder’s parents, Ludwig and Anneliese Hitzlsperger, have the most Germanic names in history. p>http://visitadventure.com/wp/2014worldcupshoes.asp

9) Uwe Rosler (Manchester City, Southampton, West Brom, Brentford, Wigan, Leeds) Until Jurgen Klopp arrived in Liverpool, the only German manager in Premier League history was Felix Magath, a man who looked like Mr Majeika (in the books) and failed to realise that the only injury you can cure with cheese is a broken heart. For that reason, Rosler must make the list. He started his career in England with Manchester City, the club’s top scorer in three consecutive seasons from 1994/95 onwards. His spells at Southampton and West Brom were altogether less successful, but he does deserve points for taking Brentford close to League One promotion before Mark Warburton finished the job. Now at Leeds, Eisler is earning a knighthood for services to working with Massimo Cellino. End of Season discount soccer shoes , please click

8) Per Mertesacker (Arsenal) Despite his recent patchy form for Arsenal, there is no doubt as to the high regard Mertesacker is held in Germany. He retired from international football in August 2014 at the age of 29, having already earned 104 caps. Mertesacker is not strictly the perfect fit for the Premier League. His lack of pace is his most obvious weakness, but – when in form – makes up for this with his positional awareness. His height earned him the nickname ‘Big F**king German’, so it’s safe to say he’s good in the air. Fact fans might be interested to know that Mertesacker has only been booked ten times in 178 matches for Arsenal. Or not.

Both Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling scored their first goals for the Three Lions in March's 4-0 victory against Lithuania. Maloney scored a fine goal in Sunday's 6-0 win over Gibraltar in Faro as Scotland ended their Group D campaign on a high despite a ninth successive failure to qualify for a major tournament. And when asked afterwards if he still had the appetite for the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign, he told STV: "Personally, yes I do. "I absolutely love playing for Scotland. It's a privilege. It's what gets you up in the morning, so I'm very proud to play. "But I think it'll be the manager of the national side who will decide when I don't play - not me."Maloney pointed to the 1-0 defeat in Georgia in September as the most damaging result of Scotland's campaign. The former Celtic, Aston Villa and Wigan player said: "We have to look at the recent game in Georgia as obviously a huge result. It was a huge knock-back. "I think that result put us in a very difficult situation. It meant we had to rely on other teams and Ireland have proved what a good side they've been when they beat Germany. Harry Kane declared Manchester City rout 'real statement' by Tottenham

End of Season discount soccer shoes , please clickHarry Kane believes Tottenham have laid down a significant marker with the manner of their 4-1 triumph over Manchester City at White Hart Lane. The striker ended his personal goal drought by scoring the third in an impressive victory that the England man believes can kick-start Spurs' campaign. "What a performance as a team, incredible," Kane told Tottenham's official website after Saturday's triumph."Everyone was focused on what they had to do and we put in a real statement of a performance out there. "City were top of the league (at start of play) and we showed what we're capable of. We've got a young team, a very energetic team and we're excited, we're enjoying every moment and days like today will give us even more confidence." He later admitted his delight at opening his account, tweeting: "What a performance by the team! Showed what we are capable of! Delighted to get my 1st Prem goal of the season."

Jose Mourinho rates Chelsea's first-half performance as 'minus one' after 2-2 draw at Newcastle

End of Season discount soccer shoes , please clickJose Mourinho blasted Chelsea's first-half performance in the 2-2 draw at Newcastle, rating his side's efforts as "minus one". The Blues boss claimed his players' performance was "really that bad" during the first 45 minutes as Ayoze Perez and Georginio Wijnaldum put Newcastle into a 2-0 lead in Saturday Night Football. However, the Portuguese manager insists there were too many poor individual performances. "I think in the first half from zero to 10 - minus one. That bad," Mourinho told Sky Sports. "In every aspect of the game, we were bad. There were too many poor individual performances. As a consequence of that, it's impossible for a team to be a good competitive team. After 2-0, I moved the team and they responded very well to get a point which is not what you want - but it's not bad." He added: "In the second half, we played very well. Ramires and Willian moved the game, not because they scored the goals, but they moved the game. "We had more intensity, the midfield was pressing more, recovering more balls, much more dynamic, arriving in dangerous positions and that intensity, Newcastle could not cope with." Despite having just under four minutes plus stoppage time to complete the turnaround on an unlikely win, Mourinho did not feel his side could win the game because of referee Martin Atkinson's style of officiating.

Newcastle players must show desire against Chelsea, says Jamie Redknapp

Jamie Redknapp says it's time Newcastle's players showed some fight, but expects Chelsea to continue their revival on Saturday Night Football... Sometimes in football you hit a low where it can't get any worse. Newcastle's Capital One Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday was it. Newcastle were awful and didn't show enough desire. Celtic boss Ronny Deila says Charlie Mulgrew is a doubt for Scotland

It is also understood that City intend to loan out the 25-year-old once he has completed all the formalities over his move to the Etihad Stadium. Dick Advocaat has 'no regrets' over returning as Sunderland boss

Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat says he will quit his position the minute he thinks he is not the right man to take the club forward. However, despite Sunderland's poor start to the Premier League season, Advocaat does not think that time has come yet. The Black Cats are bottom of the table with just two points from six matches, following their 2-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday. But Advocaat says is not rueing his decision to return to the Stadium of Light, after masterminding the club's survival last season. Having promised his wife he would retire from club management, Advocaat stepped down after saving Sunderland from the drop to the Championship, but was subsequently persuaded to change his mind and signed a one-year contract. "No regrets," said Advocaat, ahead of Tuesday's Capital One Cup tie at home to Manchester City.

Danielle Carter scored a hat-trick as England romped to an 8-0 win over Estonia

ngland Women got their Euro 2017 qualification campaign off to an ideal start with an 8-0 hammering of Estonia in Tallinn. Debutant Danielle Carter was the star of the show at the A Le Coq Arena, opening her account early on and then completing a hat-trick with a pair of late goals. The Lionesses were playing their first match since claiming the bronze medal at the World Cup in the summer and produced a clinical display against a side ranked 72 spots below them in the FIFA rankings. The visitors were quickly into their stride and Arsenal striker Carter got her international career off to a fantastic start with a second-minute goal. Jess Clarke, who was winning her 50th cap, had a cross pushed away by the keeper and Carter, who had set the attack in motion initially, calmly controlled the loose ball before bisecting a pair of defenders on the goal-line with a powerful shot. The home side had a half-chance to equalise at the other end but England keeper Carly Telford was well placed to save Signy Aarna's effort. Fran Kirby almost extended the advantage but her shot following a corner unluckily came off the crossbar.

Norwich's Alex Tettey ready to test himself at Liverpool

He told his club's official website: "It's been a good start for us but we'd like to have more than seven points. "The fact we're disappointed by that shows how well we've done. We've played some good stuff so far this season and we're looking to push on now. "We have ambitions to do well and to win games. Against Liverpool we know we have to be at our best to get something from the game. "It's important for us to be strong defensively but also to cause them some problems. It's probably our biggest test since we've been back in the Premier League. "Liverpool are a very good team and it will give us a glimpse of where we are as a team. It will be tough but this is what we worked so hard last year for. "We want to test ourselves against the best players in the league. They have good midfielders who can keep the ball but personally I'm really looking forward to going against them."

Diego Costa: Chelsea's 'serial offender' a vital figure

Diego Costa has made a convincing play to be the Premier League's most divisive figure since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2014 - but rarely has opinion been so split as after his part in Chelsea's 2-0 win against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. From the first whistle Costa, typically, was right in the face of Gabriel and Laurent Koscielny and willing to fully engage in the physical and verbal battles. He did not have a chance worthy of the name but his presence alone is as much a psychological threat as a footballing one even when the force is not with him. The verdict was reached along predictable lines. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho praised Costa as his man of the match and likened his spirit and passion for combat to the warriors on show in the Rugby World Cup. Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger accused the 26-year-old of being a serial offender with the knack of escaping punishment, as he did on Saturday after pushing Gunners defender Koscielny in the face before provoking Gabriel into the kick that led to his red card. And in that one flashpoint, one he somehow walked away from without a red card, he prompted the moment that could almost count as Chelsea's match-winner. So what makes Costa such a compelling and controversial figure? Costa remains vital to Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund score four again, Van Persie & Djourou

With La Liga and Serie A getting under way this weekend, some of the other interesting stories from across Europe might have gone under the radar. From rampant Dortmund to unlikely heroes, a reminder of what Manchester United are missing and Sami Hyypia's daunting job, let BBC Sport tell you have you may have missed. Dortmund Tuch into the goals again Borussia Dortmund became a second favourite team to many people under eccentric but brilliant coach Jurgen Klopp and his unique brand of attacking, energetic football. Thomas Tuchel replaced the man they inventively called Kloppi in the summer and if anything the team have become more exciting to watch. Dortmund's 4-0 win over Ingolstadt on Sunday was the third consecutive game they have hit four goals. End of Season discount soccer shoes , please click

Petr Cech shows his class but Arsenal still need to strengthen

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers claimed victory for either side at Arsenal would deliver an early psychological advantage in the battle for places in and around the top of the Premier League. In a thriller at the Emirates that belied its goalless scoreline, Arsenal and Liverpool traded blows from first whistle to last without either being able to land the decisive shot to put down a marker against a close rival. How the scoreline remained blank was a mystery amid madcap defending, brilliant goalkeeping, rattled woodwork and two halves divided between Liverpool's supremacy for the first 45 minutes and Arsenal's recovery after the break. It was hugely entertaining - if flawed - fare and left plenty for Rodgers and his Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger to pore over after a frenetic 90 minutes. Francis Coquelin calls for an instant response from Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has called for an instant response to last week’s shock defeat to West Ham, a result he believes was a wake-up call for everyone at the Emirates. Arsene Wenger’s men were hoping to underline their title credentials with a strong start to the Premier League after their Community Shield win over Chelsea. They were beaten instead by Slaven Bilic’s side, themselves criticised for going out of the Europa League to Romanian side Astra Giurgiu just three days earlier.End of Season discount soccer shoes , please click

Dwight Gayle must decide on Bristol City move, Alan Pardew says

Dwight Gayle will be left to decide for himself whether he leaves Crystal Palace for Bristol City, Alan Pardew says. Palace this week accepted Bristol City's offer of £6m, rising to a possible £8m, for the striker who started just 11 Premier League games last season. And Pardew will not stand in the way of a deal, despite his insistence Gayle has the potential to score 20 goals a season in the top division. End of Season discount soccer shoes , please click

The Promoted Clubs: Who, What, Where And How Good?

How did they get there? By winning the Championship in, and with, great style. There is no doubt that the romance of Bournemouth's rise through the divisions has been slightly overplayed, but Eddie Howe oversaw a remarkable run to the Championship title last season. Having been 25/1 to win the league in August (a longer price than 13 other teams), they first hit the front on November 5 and only spent another seven matches outside the top two all season. What are their chances? The squad and manager are certainly acting confident, talking up the club's prospects of Premier League consolidation rather than mere survival. That's all well and good, but recent history demonstrates that promoted sides find it incredibly tough to hold their own. Last season's trio finished 14th, 19th and 20th - Leicester's late run under Nigel Pearson stemmed the tide. Only one club (West Ham) have come up and immediately finished in the top half. That was aided by some significant spending. Winning the Championship also doesn't mean much, unfortunately. Over the last four seasons, the Championship winners have finished an average of 17.5th in the Premier League. They have collected an average points total of 34. Howe and Bournemouth don't need me to tell them that isn't enough. Meet the manager Bournemouth's success is owed in part to Russian multimillionaire owner Maxim Demin, but Howe's influence is the defining factor. Speaking to right-back Simon Francis, he revealed just how thorough the manager is in achieving his goals. "He does a lot of mental work as well as physical," Francis says. "We work not just on the training pitch but watching videos of different matches, different formations and how we can each improve. He brought things into my game that I have never worked on before. As an example, I watch a lot of videos of other right-backs, the specific runs they make. We look at how they perform, the type of runs they make when the winger has the ball. He just adds things to my game that nobody else has, and everyone else is the same."

Preston v Swindon: Peter Beagrie's League One play-off preview

As six Football League clubs prepare to walk out at Wembley for a final shot at promotion, Peter Beagrie assesses where each of this weekend’s play-offs will be won and lost. Preston North End and Swindon Town do battle for a place in the second tier of English football and Sky Sports’ Football League expert casts his eye over the League One play-off showpiece… Swindon Town INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLIES - Today FinlandvEstonia Finland8/13 Draw13/5 Estonia4/1 CORRECT SCORE - Today FinlandvEstonia 1-04/10-111/12-011/21-218/12-115/20-228/1Bet now Swindon are the perceived underdogs heading into this tie. For most of the season they’ve replicated the shape of Bristol City and they were replicating the results – outscoring teams, going forward at will and attack being their best form of defence. There has been a brilliant influence from the lads in midfield, and that has been Swindon’s strength. Yaser Kasim and Massimo Luongo are great at winning and retaining possession. Swindon may be hampered by injuries – Louis Thompson is out and we will wait and see if how Nathan Thompson’s hamstring injury is faring. Swindon’s hopes could rest on a boost if he’s fit ahead of this huge task. Ones to watch Swindon and Sheffield United played out a ten-goal thriller in the second leg of their League One playoff semi-final. Swindon and Sheffield United played out a ten-goal thriller in the second leg of their League One playoff semi-final. Ben Gladwin has been the unsung hero coming from non-league Marlow FC. Play-off triumph would cap a meteoric rise for him on this stage. He’s a big strong lad who moves very well on the ball, and he’s got an eye for goal and he has taken to League football like a duck to water. His influence has grown, he scored a magnificent goal in the semi-final and he is technically gifted. A lot of people will be wishing they had taken a punt on him, he’s a tremendous talent. Nathan Byrne in the right wing-back position has been the one over the two semi-final legs, and the season in fairness, who has shown incredible tenacity. When they turn defence into attack, it’s mainly this guy who can carry the ball 50 to 70 yards and he will flourish at Wembley.

Start Theo Walcott in the FA Cup final or risk losing both, says Charlie Nicholas

Theo Walcott: Charlie Nicholas thinks he should start the FA Cup final Charlie Nicholas has warned Arsene Wenger that he must start Theo Walcott in the FA Cup final or risk losing both. Walcott, who has 12 months to run on his current contract, scored a hat-trick in Arsenal's final-day 4-1 win over West Brom in just his fourth Premier League start of the season. Nicholas believes Walcott deserves to lead the line again against Aston Villa at Wembley on Saturday in place of Olivier Giroud, who has failed to score in his last eight appearances.Liverpool are facing their "toughest season in many, many years" in 2015/16, says Jamie Redknapp. The Reds ended a disappointing 2014/15 campaign with a 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Stoke and with Raheem Sterling's future uncertain, Daniel Sturridge's injury problems ongoing and skipper Steven Gerrard on his way to the MLS, Redknapp believes boss Brendan Rodgers has a major task on his hands. After challenging for the Premier League title last year, Liverpool ended this season in sixth, 25 points behind leaders Chelsea, meaning they miss out on Champions League football.

WATCH: Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp and Ed Chamberlin pick the Budweiser Dream Goal

Gary, Jamie and Ed's first reactions to the top ten Budweiser Dream Goal contenders Gary Neville, Jamie Redknapp and Ed Chamberlin had a tough decision when choosing the Budweiser Dream Goal. From stunning strikes to outrageous skill, the shortlist contained some top-quality goals which wouldn’t have looked out of place in the Premier League. Colin 'Quirky' Quirk ended up taking the top prize with an incredible chip, but it wasn’t after plenty of debate among the judging panel. Jamie Carragher: James Milner a potential Liverpool captain Milner: Has completed a move to Liverpool on a free transfer, subject to a medical Jamie Carragher says James Milner could compete for the Liverpool captaincy when he joins from Manchester City. The England midfielder will join the club on July 1, subject to a medical, after his contract at the 2013/14 Premier League champions expires. And the Sky Sports pundit says Milner could now rival Jordan Henderson both for his position in Brendan Rodgers’ midfield and also as a potential successor to Steven Gerrard as club captain.

Liverpool agree deal to sign Burnley forward Danny Ings

Danny Ings celebrates scoring a goal for Burnley and is now moving to Liverpool Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign striker Danny Ings from relegated Burnley. Ings has agreed personal terms and will move to Anfield on July 1 after his contract expires, subject to passing a medical. Goalkeeper Petr Cech says he will hold talks with Chelsea next week before deciding if his future lies away from Stamford Bridge. The 33-year-old has a year left on his contract with the Premier League champions but has dropped down the pecking order behind first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Blues boss Jose Mourinho has stressed on several occasions that he is eager for the Czech stopper to stay and Cech is keen to resolve the issue sooner rather than later.

Football People On TV: Gary Lineker

John Nicholson and Alan Tyers inspect their intimate blisters, pull on their tightest pants, take a stiff drink, flush away all the incriminating evidence and pretend to be regular people while watching Gary Lineker on their TVs... Fashion Police Gary's clothes look expensive. Loves a slim-fit shirt and well-tailored suit with a hint of a fashionable cut, though not enough to stray away from an essentially conservative image. All about the single-breasted dark jackets and white shirt to highlight an always deep, rich tan acquired in a place for rich people. Recently began to feature facial hair in a vaguely d'Artagnan fashion, possibly in homage to Gary Neville, who was an early pioneer of this trend. A good example to all 50-somethings that you don't have to pull on the beige Farah slacks either literally or mentally just because you've raised your bat for the half-century. Lingo Bingo The Match of the Day gig is about mass communication, so it's not the place for extended metaphor, litotes or even words of more than two syllables. Pleasingly soft East Midlands tones are still present. As the years have passed, his delivery has become less formal and more relaxed as his gradual evolution to a 21st century Des Lynam takes its inevitable course. If you didn't know he'd been a top international footballer for his country, you'd never pick it up from how he speaks about his own career, which is always in terms of his own failings, rather than any bragging or 'in my day' grandstanding. Seems not just media-trained to avoid offending people, but does so as part of his innate character. Charming. Hits And Misses Early days were marked with what seemed like years of stilted camera-staring and clunky scripts, which managed to make him seem both seem both bland and self-regarding. Those days are long gone now: he has evolved into a consummate pro who is at his best in a live situation. This began in the 2006 World Cup, when it was noticeable how much better he was when allowed some time to simply talk rather than just reading from the autocue. Today, you wouldn't want anyone else in charge of a big live game. Able to make you feel relaxed but not bored and if anything goes wrong, he can always laugh it off by being self-deprecating enough to realise that none of it really matters.

Europa League: Hardly The AIA Cup

Just thought I would jump in on all this Brendan Rodgers chat. In my opinion, a manager's ability to spot and sign the right player is the most important part of their skill set and is a hugely underrated quality. You can work all week on the training ground, but if the players aren't good enough you will come unstuck. There is no doubt in my mind that Brendan is a very good coach. The work he did with the Chelsea youth side was exceptional and his work at Liverpool has generally been good; for a while it was incredible, and occasionally it's very poor. Liverpool are the fifth biggest club in England; finishing above that is a fine achievement given the resources of the clubs above them. However, his ability to spot a player is nowhere near at the level it should be to compete consistently with the top managers. It is far too easy in modern football to spend mind boggling money on average footballers. Wenger always talks about money not being a good indication of quality and he, above everyone else, has proven that you can build a Champions League football team on small amounts of cash if you have the right eye. The greatest managers in the world, despite making mistakes, are all fairly gifted in this area. With that in mind here is a little game for the mailbox. Create the best team you can with £20million from previous transfers. Academy graduates can be included as there is skill in bringing through young players although they have to have given the player their debut. Also, no transfers before 2000 simply to avoid the class of 92 which was bloody 22 years ago! As an Arsenal fan I scupper myself slightly and missed out on using Vieira, Ljungberg, Anelka, Overmars, Petit, but I still came up with this lot: Lehmann, Bellerin, Toure, Campbell, Gibbs, Song, Fabregas, Wilshere, Ramsey, Pires, Van Persie Not a bad side and you can keep the change. Eleven players for a combined total of £13 million and I have a feeling this lot would get you a title or two. A waste of money 11 might be a good shout as well; wouldn't mind seeing a few of them to name and shame some poor decision makers. Tom Goldenballs

Can We Combine Danny And Theo? The finishing of Theo Walcott and the hold-up play of Danny Welbeck would be just perfect. Plus, lots of Brendan Rodgers, some Big Sam and all hail Degsy...

Brendan Rodgers is an embarrassment. He is an embarrassment both on and off the field. For the umpteenth time in his short managerial life he proudly played himself up just before the inevitable almighty fall. His '150 percent certain to remain manager next season' was typically succeeded by a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Stoke. To be abundantly clear, this was the worst defeat for Liverpool since 1963. Also disgraceful was how he approached the match vs Real Madrid earlier in the season - basically giving up before even taking to the field at the Bernabeu. Liverpool fans remember going into major stadiums with the confidence of winning or fighting for a draw but Rodgers has sucked that out of us. We remember Rafa's teams winning against plenty of the continental heavyweights and if not winning, running them bloody close. But more than anything else, for the first time in many a season there seem to be two realistic, brilliant candidates available to us. Rafa has proven himself all over again (with Chelsea and Napoli) and clearly loves Liverpool Football Club. Jurgen Klopp is a genius manager who can take Liverpool back amongst the elite. Both men bring tons of experience, silverware, tactical nous and the ability to attract top-level players from across the world. It would be a major mistake on the part of FSG if they were to let go of this opportunity. RV, India Sterling And Rodgers: Both Flawed It has been so easy to finish fourth this season. In a way, looking back on the league before the fixture with Chelsea last season and where Liverpool were, one might be forgiven for thinking it would have been quite easy to win the title too. I feel similar feelings about both Raheem Sterling and Brendan Rodgers in truth; both have shown flashes of extreme brilliance but too often, when it has mattered most, both have gone missing. In Raheem's case, even factoring in the 25% sell-on for QPR, we could potentially cash in on a player who is good and might become great but so far hasn't shown enough to me to warrant the reputation he seems to have gained. Having watched him in almost 40 games this season my overarching feelings are that he is either a forward that doesn't score enough, a winger with a poor final ball or an attacking midfielder that doesn't always have the required finesse to play through the middle. I'm not saying he's not good, he's way above average, I'm just saying he's not great and I don't think he's a £40m player at the moment, but that's not to say he won't become one. In Rodgers' case, he took us close to the title and he took us back to the Champions League, but once he got into those positions he didn't quite know what to do with himself or the team. If I was to compare Rodgers to another manager tactically it would have to be Wenger. He has a view on how football should be played and doesn't bend away from that at all. I know Wenger did alter his style against Man City this season but that seemed to be an anomaly now we are in a position to reflect. The problem with this mentality is that when you come up against teams with better players, you invariably will lose because they will exploit your mistakes. We saw this against Arsenal, Chelsea (when it mattered) and Man Utd in the second half of the season. Managers that can't change their approach for different games don't work at clubs like Liverpool, where there are four better squads in the league every season at least. Last season was the exception because we had the third best player in the world - we conceded 50 goals but he bailed us out on many a day.
